Glass Flower Gallery
Forever in bloom — no green thumb required. Perfect for home and office décor, centerpieces, or as gifts.
“I was inspired to create Mama’s Garden in honor of my mother, a kind woman with a green thumb. She loved having fresh flowers on the table and was always saddened as they wilted and died. This body of work preserves a brief moment in nature so others can appreciate it for a lifetime.”
You can find pieces from Mama’s Garden at respected fine galleries across the U.S. or request your own custom piece on this page.

Vicki Schneider individually flameworks each piece from soda-lime glass and anneals it (removes thermal stress) in a digitally controlled kiln to maximize durability.
Each piece is displayed on heat-sanitized Lake Erie driftwood and deconstructed prior to shipping. Vicki’s proven packing process protects each piece. For years, she has successfully shipped her sculptures all across the country.
Pricing may vary slightly from the pictured sculpture, and final dimensions will depend on the selected driftwood base.
Please note: Your flowers will not look exactly like those pictured. Just as in nature, no two flowers are ever identical—each piece is truly one of a kind.

FAQs
about Mama’s Garden
-
Each piece is packed using our proven process consisting of custom foam cocoons, fiber-fill cushioning, and double-box (carton-in-carton) packaging.
-
Each part of a sculpture is created with a glass peg at its bottom. That peg fits into a matching hole in the driftwood base. Prior to shipping, each piece is lifted out of its base and protected within a cavity cut into layers of 1” soft foam. To prevent damage, sculptures are deconstructed before packing. Each component is carefully protected. See the full packaging process.
-
Yes. Every component is numbered to match an Installation Map, making reconstruction simple and straightforward.
-
Clear, step-by-step unpacking, installation, and care instructions are included. You will also receive a photo of your sculpture showing your piece in its driftwood base.
-
She researches each flower to identify those characteristics that communicate the essence of the flower’s design. She then conducts color tests by layering solid and transparent glasses to achieve the desired shading. Oftentimes, Vicki has to experiment with various sculpting approaches to find ones that let her bring her flowers to life.
-
Vicki applies centuries-old flameworking techniques, using a propane and oxygen torch and simple tools such as tweezers, a paring knife, and a small blowpipe. Every piece is sculpted freehand. No paints or molds are ever used.
-
Once you and Vicki agree to the general design and budget of your garden, you will need to pay a 50% non-refundable deposit to initiate the order.
Upon completion of your piece, Vicki will send you images of your garden. After your approval, she will invoice you for the agreed-upon balance + shipping fees at cost.
-
Each petal, leaf, stem, bud, and blossom is made individually, then joined together carefully with a tiny flame to complete each component — a highly challenging process. Pieces are never joined with glue or wire.
-
Every component is annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to relieve the thermal stress that develops in the glass during the sculpting process. If left unrelieved, these stresses can lead to cracking. In addition, each piece is thoroughly inspected to verify that all joined components are securely fused and have no discernible defects.
In the unlikely event a piece is damaged in transit - a highly unusual occurrence - we ask you to forward photos of the cartons and the broken pieces to Vicki and she will work with you to make things right.
-
Vicki reviews her collection of driftwood that she’s personally gathered from Lake Erie, looking for the ideal piece that will enhance the shape, colors, and flow of her sculpture. After sanitizing the selected wood in a kiln, she sands the bottom to create a stable base. She drills holes matching the desired placement of each component and inserts the stems and leaves into their respective places. As an added feature, collectors are given malleable wax they can place around the pegs to gently and securely hold the pieces in their correct orientation. This proven process allows each component to be easily removed from its base for shipping or periodic cleaning. Follow this link (insert packing link) for more information about Vicki’s proven packing and installation processes.
-
Vicki puts each piece of driftwood through a heat sanitation process to eliminate any little creatures that may have used the wood as a home on the beach. This eliminates any chance of infestation from this natural material.
-
Yes. Each piece is signed with a small glass medallion (murrini slice) containing her initials “VS” at the base, which attests to its authenticity. She also incorporates her artistic signature, a small sculpted ladybug somewhere in the design.
